The anthropology hosts a fall "Meet
the Majors" event, to introduce new faculty and majors
and a spring "Initiation"
picnic, to welcome new faculty and students into the department
community.
Every five years, the anthropology department sponsors a weekend
Homecoming. The homecoming brings back
to campus anthropology alums from distant classes and places, and
includes panel discussions focused on the various activities and
occupations that our majors have taken up since leaving Vassar.
In 2002, the homecoming hosted by the Anthropology Department began
with a reception on Friday night in the new Blodgett Lounge. Saturday
was given over to Panel Discussions and a Plenary Session, followed
by a Potluck Supper at Lucy Johnson's house. The Saturday Events
